Cleddau King has been operating since 2000, providing SCUBA
diving and fishing trips for clubs and groups. The boat is operated
by Alun Lewis and partner Sarah Hoss, who also run sightseeing,
wildlife and pleasure cruises. A recent addition to their service
is their scheduled river cruises from Milford to Haverfordwest.
The boat is disabled friendly with wheelchair access. The boat
has a Category 2 licence. The company also services, manufactures
and inspects boat moorings throughout the haven. The business
is based at Landshipping, where the operators live.
The Cleddau King is the official flagship for the Pembroke
River Rally and is chartered by the Haverfordwest Town Council
for the annual Beating of the Bounds.
Cleddau King, named after the famous ferryboat, which used to
shuttle people in the days before the Cleddau Bridge, is a Cyfish
40 feet motor cruiser, with a 23 feet long 12 feet wide, open
deck ideal for fishing and SCUBA diving.
It is a fast, stable boat, designed for comfortable cruising
and powered by a 450bhpVolvo Penta engine.
The large deck provides ample space for sitting or accommodating
equipment for a safe enjoyable trip for sightseeing, taking
photographs and having a drink and packed lunch in comfort.
A unique feature of the Cleddau King is the hydraulic diver
lift, for safe, effortless sea exits. The Cleddau King is equipped
with RADAR, Fish/Wreckfinder, GPS Chart Plotter, DGPS Chart
Plotter, GMDSS VHF Radio, portable VHF and full safety/First
Aid equipment.
The boat is wheelchair-accessible and is licensed for 12 passengers
and 2 crew up to 60 miles from safe haven.
