Situated
on the River Cleddau it grew up around the terminus of the South
Wales railway. As such Isambard Kingdom Brunel is regarded as
the towns founder. In addition to Neyland always being associated
with the railways, Fishing, Boat building, and the Packet Boat
trade have all made their impressions on the Town
A 360 berth marina now occupies the land vacated by the Great
Western Railway Company and is the base for a numberous maritime
leisure and recreational activities.
A number of operators run daily Wildlife and Dive trips in the
area from various departure points. Operators include:

All of these operators have skippers and crews
accredited to the WiSe scheme (Wildlife Safe) and are active
members of the Pembrokeshire Marine Code group. As such they
adhere to the codes of conduct developed to protect the marine
wildlife of Pembrokeshire whilst providing patrons with knowledge
of the species being observed.
