How to record a sigthing
In order for your sighting information to
be as valuable as possible you will need torecord some basic
information. This will include:
Type of animal seen e.g. Bottlenose
Dolphin or Barrel Jellyfish. If you are unsure exactly what you
have seen provide as detailed description of its appearance as
possible.
General description (size, general health, any distinguishing
marks etc)
How many you saw
Where you Saw them (GPS coordinates or bearings and distance are
best)
When you saw them (Date and time)
What they were doing e.g. feeding, resting, dead, etc
Brief description of weather and sea state.
Where other animals close by.
Do you have a picture or video of the sighting.
